Over 20 parents, teachers, students, and volunteers at Stockyard Constellation School decided to have a clean-up day on this past October 25. The piece of land between the school, Clark Avenue, and the railroad tracks is a notorious hot spot for crime, vagrancy, and drug use. The reason; the thick, heavy brush that covers the piece of land makes for a perfect, out of sight spot for those looking for shelter or a place to engage in illicit activity.

With the help of Stockyard resident and SCFBC employee Dave Reuse, the volunteers wasted no time getting to work. Within several hours, they had gotten rid of 18.87 tons of garbage and plant overgrowth. The crew brought 69 cubic yards of debris to the dump!

The school would like to schedule another clean up day in the future! Please contact Louise Robinson at robison.louise@constellationschools.com if interested!

In addition, if you ever are witness to illegal dumping in your neighborhood, please call 216-621-1234. There is a reward program in place. The witness gets half the amount of the fine as a reward! For example, if the criminal gets a $750 fine, as a witness you would be rewarded $375! For any questions, please call Dave Reuse at 216-961-9073 Ext. 228
